Men’s Swimming in Diving in Second Through Day 1 at Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team competed in Day 1 of the three-day Phoenix Fall Classic at University of Chicago on Friday night. The Scarlet Hawks ended the day in second place in the five team field with 109 points.

Today's Events

  • Illinois Tech's top 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team performed well, placing fifth and earning 32 points. Tanner Grieve, Matt Schindler, Michael Milici, and Connor McGuire combined for a time of 1:30.66. 
  • In the 1650 Yard Freestyle, Kevin Boldt had one of his best swims of the year, placing third (17:19.93) and earning 16 points. Grant Kitahata (fifth, 18:39.91) earned 14 points, while Tristan Busch (sixth, 18:42.82) earned 13.
  • Tech's top 400 Yard Medley Relay team of Milici, Jay Korohonen, Julican Escasa, and Grieve placed fifth and earned 34 points (3:36.24). The relay team of Joe Valio, Moses Yao, Schindler, and Boldt placed sixth with a time of 3:39.11.
