ELSAH, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team opened up the Liberal Arts Championships on Wednesday night at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. David Polzin was the only Scarlet Hawk to compete in the Men's 1 Meter Diving event.

Preliminaries and finals for 1 Meter Diving both took place on Wednesday night. Polzin earned a fifth place finish, netting scores of 301.55 in the prelimiaries before a 296.65 final round total. Polzin finished just .20 points behind the meet's fourth place finisher: Coe's Justin Sauter. Loras' John Maveski won the event with a total of 487.05.

The Liberal Arts Championships continue tomorrow with numerous events taking place. The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, 500 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Individual Medley, 50 Yard Freestyle, and 400 Yard Medley Relay all have Scarlet Hawk student-athletes scheduled to compete.
