Chicago, Illinois- The Illinois Institute of Technology swim team's took on St. Ambrose in their second dual meet of the season. The women fell to 0-2, while the men won an exciting meet, by one point, to move to 2-0.

The women were missing some important point scorers, but still came away with 4 event wins. They had standout performances from Anna SlominskiMegan Burrill, and Jamie Wurster. Slominski won both of her events, for the second week in a row, and keeps a strong start to her Freshman campaign going. Burrill, a Sophomore, and the school record holder in the 200 butterfly, got a win in the 100 butterfly. The last individual win came from Senior Jamie Wurster, who got her first individual win of the year, in the 50 free. Freshman Jamie Dean also had a great performance, and went an all-time best time, in the 100 butterfly. That's impressive to do this early in the season.

The Tech men's squad took on the number 3 ranked men's team in NAIA, and posted some nationally ranked division three times. The meet was extremely close, as both teams traded event wins throughout the meet. Tech had a number of events where they touched out St. Ambrose's guys for 4th and 5th place points, and got big points from their divers, who are proving to be important contributers. The men got big performances from Kanoa Sawaii, who won the 50 free and 100 butterfly. His 100 butterfly is the #6 division 3 time in the country. Freshman Eric Zhang got his first individual win, of his collegiate career, in the 200 freestyle. His time puts him in the top 50, for division 3. Mark Klinchin was the other individual winner, for the swimming events. He won the 100 freestyle, with a time that puts him at #21 in the division 3 ranks. Senior Miles Thompson and Freshman Sam Kastan also had performances that put them in the top 50 for their events. Thompson in the 1000 freestyle, and Kastan in the 100 breaststroke.

The team's have a week off, from competition, before they travel to Loras, and compete in their first away meet of the season.
