ELSAH, ILL.—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's and women's swimming & diving squads opened the 2020 Liberal Arts Championship at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois on Wednesday, where they each competed in the 800 freestyle relay.
Mark Klinchin, Seth Wissenbach, Eric Zhang and Tyler Van Wagener claimed first place with a 7:02.01 for the men. Katherine Lydon, Anna Slominski, Claudia Flores and Megan Burrill registered a second-place time of 8:05.48 on the women's side.
The women sit in second place out of nine teams with 34 points, while the men sit third out of seven teams with 40 points.
IIT will embark on day two of the Liberal Arts Championship in Elsah, Illinois tomorrow, Thursday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. / 5:30 p.m.
