Zhong Wins Year's First Weekly Men's Tennis Award

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) has awarded its first Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week award to a Scarlet Hawk. Senior Franklin Zhong has been honored by the league after an impressive weekend in Tech's two matches.

The native of Lee's Summitt, Mo. was an anchor for the Scarlet Hawks against tough competiton at Grinnell and against Central. Zhong was a part of Tech's only win in an 8-1 loss against Grinnell, as he and Pol de Santiago won in #1 doubles 8-7. Against Central, the duo was an 8-1 winner, while Zhong himself won 6-3, 6-2 in #2 singles.

The Scarlet Hawks are back in action on Saturday with two matches: against Millikin University (1:30 p.m.) and UW-Whitewater (5:30 p.m.). Both matches will be hosted by the Whitewater Warhawks.
