MILWAUKEE, Wis. – For the second time this season, Illinois Tech men's tennis has earned a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Student-Athlete of the Week award. Davis Housman was announced as the league's winner yesterday for his play between March 4-10.
A native of Texas, Housman was critical in Tech's 5-4 win over Calvin on Saturday. The freshman won in both No. 3 doubles (8-3 with Brody Croonquist) and No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-0 over Calvin's Owen Brookhouse) to give the Scarlet Hawks the necessary amount of wins for victory. He also suffered two close defeats on Friday against a tough Augustana team.
Tech heads to Florida next week for several matches in the Sunshine State over Spring break. Stay tuned over the next several days for a post breaking down the week's schedule.
