Scarlet Hawks Fall to Division I Illinois State

BLOOMINGTON, ILL.—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's tennis team squared-off against NCAA Division I Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois on Saturday. The Scarlet Hawks dropped a 7-0 decision to the Redbirds.

The Scarlet Hawks fall to 2-4 while Illinois State improves to 9-5.

Both team played NCAA Division I rules, where only one point is awarded for doubles. That point belonged to Illinois State as they swept the slate. Brody Croonquist/Davis Housman were competitive in #1 doubles with a 6-3 loss to ISU's Jorge Adair Quispe/Zacharias Rankloo Rasmusson. 

The Redbirds swept singles, but Andy Fang made things interesting for Illinois Tech in the #6 slot with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-1 loss to Brandon Lew. 

The Scarlet Hawks will travel to Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Friday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.
