MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Illinois Institute of Technology sophomore Nabil Fawaz (Irvine, Calif.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 2-8, 2022, as selected by the league's athletic communications professionals.

Fawaz played a key role in the Scarlet Hawks securing the NACC Men's Tennis Tournament title this past weekend. Fawaz went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play. Fawaz and doubles partner Pablo Marroquin Borque secured the only doubles victory for Illinois Tech in Sunday's final against Concordia Wisconsin, preventing the Falcons from entering singles play with a 3-0 advantage. Fawaz followed that up by winning his singles match against CUW's Tim Peters 6-3, 6-4, as the Scarlet Hawks won their third consecutive NACC tournament title.
