Baig Leads Way for Men's Track and Field

SOMERS, Wis. – The Illinois Tech men's track and field team competed at UW-Parkside on Saturday in the Green and White Invite. The Scarlet Hawks earned a sixth-place finish.

Meet Highlights

  • Rayan Baig led the Scarlet Hawks in the 55 Meter Dash (11th place, 7.09s), 200 Meter Dash (12th place, 24.72s), and 400 Meter Dash (fifth place, 54.33s) events. 
  • Isaac Gewarges won the 1000 Meter Run with a time of 3:19.24.
  • Cole Dammeier was also strong in his distance event, earning a fifth place finish in the 3000 Meter Run (9:13.39).
  • Cole Fasnacht (sixth place, 5.31m) and Saisaketh Valluri (eighth place, 5.26m) led the way for the Scarlet Hawks in the long jump.

  • The Scarlet Hawks will compete in the University of Chicago's Windy City Invite on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
