Men’s Track and Field Compete at Wheaton

WHEATON, Ill. – On Tuesday, the men's track and field team competed for the second time in four day, traveling to Wheaton College to partake in the Don Church Invite. The Scarlet Hawks placed 11th as a team.

Meet Highlights

  • Once again, Cole Dammeier had a strong 3000m, placing third to score for Tech at 9:15.29. Julian Go also scored in sixth place (9:22.60).
  • Barry Brookins was awesome in both the hammer throw (39.04m) and discus (38.55m), scoring in both events.
  • Building on his great freshman season was Evan Balizado, who placed 12th in the 800m at 2:00.33. Brendan Batliner also ran well in the same race, placing 22nd at 2:05.38.
  • In the 1500m, Dammeier finished in 11th place (4:06.59). He was followed by Go, who ran in 19th place at 4:14.82.
