CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's track & field team competed at the University of Chicago Margaret Bradley Invite on Saturday. The Scarlet Hawks secured seventh place out of 11 teams with 25 points while the host Maroons registered the team title with 236 points.

Thomas Doyle was the spark plug IIT needed in the 800 meter run when he crossed the finish line at 2:00.14, and barely trailed Jacob Hernandez's (Aurora) first-place time of 1:59.92. Louis Ketchman wasn't too far behind in eighth place with a 2:02.62.

Jacob Gagner was dominate in the 400 meter dash with a fifth-place time of 53.94. The one-mile run was all Evan Balizado, who crossed the finish line at 4:37.90 en route to seventh place.  Julian Go was on Balizado's heels with a 4:41.10, good enough for ninth place.

Gagner, Balizado, Doyle and Ketchman teamed for a sixth-place mark of 3:37.20 in the 4x400 meter relay.

Barry Brookins was explosive in the field events after he took third place in the weight throw with a 13.98m. He also registered an eighth-place mark of 12.16m in the shot put.

The Scarlet Hawks will compete at the 2020 NACC Indoor Track & Field Championship in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, February 29.
