Brian Dzingai begins his third season as assistant track & field coach at Illinois Institute of Technology in 2020-21.

He laid the foundation for Florida State University's sprints group as he became the school's first All-American in 2004, where he placed fifth in the 200 meter dash at outdoor nationals. The 2004 campaign also saw Dzingai claim the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Indoor and Outdoor 200 Meter Dash Championships. Following graduation, Dzingai became the fourth male athlete in Florida State history, and the first since 1992 to compete in multiple Olympic competitions after participating in the 2004 and 2008 games. The Harare, Zimbabwe native placed fourth in the 200 meter dash at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. 

Dzingai has lived in Chicago for the past six years and has volunteered at St. Patrick’s High School as their sprints coach for two seasons.

Dzingai is a 2005 graduate of Florida State, and became a volunteer assistant coach there for nine seasons. He went on to earn his MBA in 2007, also from Florida State. He is married to his wife Carol, and has three children.
