Men's Volleyball Splits Pair Of Matches - Defeats Wabash - Loses to Jamestown

Chicago, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches Friday night at the Keating Sports Center, sweeping Wabash College 3-0 in the opener before dropping the nightcap 3-0 to the University of Jamestown 3-0. The Scarlet Hawks moved to 8-9 overall on the season. The Little Giants of Wabash College fell to 2-12 overall. The Jimmies of Jamestown improved to 14-5 overall.

Grant Couper and Michal Markevych paced the Hawks with 11 and 9 kills respectively in the match against Wabash, while Jackson Van Engen added seven kills to go along with a .778 hit percentage. Lucas Guanes had 28 assists in the opener. Markevych also added 11 digs.

In the second match, Couper and Riley Laite paced the Hawks with 8 and 7 kills, respectively. Guanes had 22 assists, while Alec Donald had 13 digs. Markevych and James Yaeger each had four blocks in the nightcap.
