CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Tech women's basketball fell to the Robert Morris (Peoria) University Eagles on Wednesday night at the Keating Sports Center. Both teams were tied at halftime, but a third quarter burst by the Eagles put the game out of reach as the Scarlet Hawks lost 57-50.

How It Happened

• Both teams started the game sluggish from the field. Tech missed its first 11 shots, but guard Madison Davis helped turn the tide as she made two consecutive three-pointers to cut the lead down to two (8-6) at the end of the first quarter.
• It continued to be a back and forth game as both teams started to heat up from the field. A three-pointer by sophomore Raiven Johnson with less than one minute left in the first half tied the game for the Scarlet Hawks, as both teams went into the break knotted up at 21.
• The first five minutes of the second half saw more of the same, as both teams exchanged several baskets. A sudden onslaught by Eagles saw the opponents go 6-of-7 from the field over the span of four minutes. The third quarter ended with the Eagles up by 12 (43-31), outscoring the Hawks 22-10.
• The Scarlet Hawks fought hard in the fourth quarter as Venika Jarvis kept Tech in the game with strong play on both ends of the floor. Tech outscored the Eagles 19-14 in the fourth, but weren't able to overcome the deficit.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

• Jarvis scored a team high 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, tallying her second consecutive double-double. She also went perfect from the charity stripe (3-of-3) and got four steals.
• Davis started the game 3-of-4 from three-point range and ended the game with 13 points, eight rebounds, and one steal.
• Johnson had a team high eight assists, to go along with five assists and four rebounds.

Stats to Know

• Tech shot 21 more shots than Robert Morris who only put up 74-53.
• The Scarlet Hawks lead in rebounds 49-32.
• Tech's advantage on the boards lead to 17 second chance points while the Eagles only managed two.
• Both teams had limited strips to the free-throw line, but the Hawks went an effective 4-of-5 (80%) as the Eagles shot 44.4% (4-of-9).
