Sabres Hold Off Scarlet Hawks

FOND DU LAC, WIS.—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's basketball team continued their three-game road swing with a Tuesday-night affair at Marian University. IIT falls to 0-13, 0-8 NACC while Marian ups their record to 3-10, 3-6 NACC.

Erin Nelson, Shannon O'Donnell and Erin Nelson each played all 40 minutes for the Scarlet Hawks. O'Donnell led all scorers with 23 points while Nelson followed with 12. O'Donnell built on her NACC-leading 81 made free throws and 116 free throw attempts as she converted 11-17 at the charity stripe for the Scarlet Hawks.

Both teams were relatively even shooting the ball as IIT mustered a .348 (16-46) mark while Marian tallied a .394 (28-71) figure. Fifteen players saw playing time for Marian, who were led by Morgan Johnson and Madison Holdiman's 13 points apiece.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to competition on Thursday, January 16 at Wisconsin Lutheran for a 7:00 p.m. start.
