Chicago, Ill. - Facing a Benedictine team that held the Illinois Tech women's basketball team to 17 points in their last matchup two weeks ago, the Scarlet Hawks put up 41 points in the rematch, but the visiting Eagles had more than enough in their 86-41 victory Tuesday night at the Keating Sports Center. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 5-15 overall(2-12 NACC). The Eagles improved to 14-8 overall (12-3 NACC) and retained third place in the conference.

The Hawks closed out the first quarter trailing 26-10, which despite representing a 16-point deficit, was a marked improvement from the first quarter of the prior matchup, when the Hawks were outscored 19-0.

The Eagles turned on the power in the second quarter however, using a 15-0 run to take command of the game, heading into halftime leading 41-15.

The Hawks had more offensive success in the second half, scoring 13 points each quarter, but the Eagles lead was too much to overcome.

Shooting percentage told the story in this contest, as the Eagles finished 51 percent from the field, while the Hawks struggled at 27 percent.
