Women's Basketball Upended By Concordia Wisconsin

Chicago, Ill. – It was a tough day at the office for the Illinois Tech women's basketball team Saturday afternoon at the Keating Center, as the Scarlet Hawks fell to Concordia Wisconsin 71-43 in a NACC matchup. The Scarlet Hawks fall to 0-4 in conference play, and 1-7 overall. The Falcons improved to 4-1 in conference and 5-3 overall.

The Falcons were able to utilize their size advantage for a 42-24 advantage in points in the paint. Concordia Wisconsin was also able to get contributions from their reserves, with eight different players contributing 30 points off the bench.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Julia Bucci paced the Scarlet Hawks with 16 points, including 4 of 9 from three-point range.
  • Kaya Jones finished with 11 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
  • Chloe Churilla pulled down 9 rebounds and added 6 points.

Falcons Watch

  • Emily Hafemann led the Falcons with 17 points.
  • Lindsey Smitsdorff had 7 rebounds.

  • The Hawks shot 25% from three-point range on 4-16 shooting. The Falcons shot 46% from three on 6-13 shooting. 
  • The Scarlet Hawks shot 34% from the field; Concordia Wisconsin shot 45%
  • Illinois Tech committed 20 fouls; the Falcons had 13 fouls.
  • Illinois Tech was 5-10 from the free-throw line for 50%. Concordia Wisconsin was 7-16 (44%).
