Women's Soccer Releases 2020 Schedule

2020 SCHEDULE

CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team is 165 days away from their 2020 season opener, which will take place on September 1 against Carthage College at Stuart Field. The Scarlet Hawks' 20-game slate will include eight non-conference affairs, and will feature a pair of squads on the final 2019 NCAA Division III Women's United Soccer Coaches Poll in No. 16 Chicago and No. 21 California Lutheran.

"After a challenging 2019 schedule where we competed at a high level against two teams that made it to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Final Four, we are very excited about our 2020 schedule," said Illinois Tech head women's soccer coach Roshane Ellison. "We learned a lot from the 2019 season, which I believe will make us well equipped for a challenging 2020 schedule. Each game will offer a unique challenge but also presents an opportunity for us to achieve our ultimate goal."

Following their season opener against the Lady Reds, Illinois Tech will embark on a two-game swing on the west coast where they'll face No. 21 Cal Lutheran on September 4, and Caltech on September 5. Cal Lutheran's 2019 season resulted in a 13-3-4 record, which ended in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament Second Round where they battled to a 0-0 draw against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps before they fell to them in penalty kicks. The Regals finished as runner-up in both the SCIAC regular and post seasons to No. 3 Pomona Pitzer, who advanced to the final four.

North Central (Ill.) (September 9), Knox (September 12), Lawrence (September 13), North Park (October 12) and Chicago (October 22) round out the remaining non-conference bouts.

The Scarlet Hawks will open conference play at home against defending NACC Regular Season Champion Dominican University (Ill.) on September 16, and will close the 2020 slate at Rockford on October 28.
