ON THIS DAY (November 2): Men's Cross Country Earns Fourth Place at NACC Championship (2019), Women's Soccer Earns First Ever NACC Tournament Win (2018)

CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks achieved program milestones on November 2 as the women's soccer team tallied their first-ever NACC Tournament victory in a 4-3 decision over Marian University (Wis.) in the semifinal match at Stuart Field in 2018. The men's cross country squad claimed fourth place at the 2019 NACC Championship in West Allis, Wisconsin, a program-best and improvement from their sixth-place standing in 2018.

The Scarlet Hawks jumped to a 4-1 lead over Marian (Wis.) in the 77th minute behind goals from Katie Hoefgren (2) Julia Taliana and Caeli Kennedy. The Sabres cut their deficit to 4-3 in the 89th and 90th minutes before time expired and Illinois Tech booked a trip to the 2018 NACC Tournament Championship Game, where they dropped a 1-0 match at Dominican University (Ill.). 

The Scarlet Hawks outshot Marian (Wis.) 40-17. Catherine Klemp and Caitlin Kenoian each saw 45:00 in net for Illinois Tech, and combined for seven saves.

The Scarlet Hawks registered 125 team points en route to fourth place out of 10 teams, an improvement from their sixth-place mark in 2018. Julian Go landed a spot on the 2019 All-NACC Team with a 15th-place time of 28:55.7.
