Illinois Tech Women's Swimming and Diving Has Strong Showing In Loss

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Illinois Tech women's swimming and diving team nearly pulled off their meet against host St. Ambrose on Saturday.

The Fighting Bees defeated the Scarlet Hawks, 124-101 at Davenport Central Natatorium.

Scarlet Hawks Standouts

  •  Claudia Flores won first place at the 1,000 yard freestyle with her time of 11:45.8. Delaney Shephard came in second place in that race with a time of 11:58.62.
  •  Megan Burrill picked up the victory in the 200 yard freestyle after finishing the race at 2:06.22 and won at the 100 yard butterfly at 1:01.25.
  •  Kristin Wills captured the 200 yard IM race after swimming in a 2:24.89. Claudia Flores came in second after a 2:28.
  •  Wills also won the 100 yard backstroke after finishing at 1:06.22.
  •  Kathy Lydon's 5:30.93 allowed her to win the 500 yard freestyle
