Tech Women Fall in Opener

Chicago, Illinois- The Illinois Tech women lost to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women, in their home opener, 147-68.

The lady Scarlet Hakws were led by senior Katy Lydon. She started her season off by winning the 200 freestlye, in a time of 2:01.51. Other event winners were sophomore Megan Burrill in the 200 butterfly, and freshman Anna Slominski in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke. Both used solid, controlled swims to win their events. The women's team picked up big points from Claudia Flores in the 1000 freestyle, and Kiara Jasunas, who both placed second in their events.

The lady Scarlet Hawks next face St. Ambrose, at home, on October 19th.
