Slominski Sets School, Facility and Conference 200 Yard Individual Medley Record on Day Two of Liberal Arts Championship

DAY TWO RESULTS

ELSAH, ILL.—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming & diving squad embarked on day two of the Liberal Arts Championship, hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Illinois on Thursday. Anna Slominski commanded IIT on day two when she set her own school record in the 200 individual medley preliminaries with a time of 2:09.36, before she brought it to another level in finals with a school, pool and Liberal Arts Conference record time of 2:06.87. 

The Scarlet Hawks sit in second place with 163 points, while Coe College leads the 11-team field with 222 points.

Megan Burrill was on Slominski's heels in the 200 yard IM with a second-place time of 2:11.61. Records continued to role for the Scarlet Hawks in the 400 yard medley relay when Jamie Wurster, Slominski, Burrill and Katherine Lydon crossed the finish line at 3:57.03, good enough for first place.

Katherine Lydon kept the first-place trend alive for Illinois Tech in the 500 yard freestyle, where she clocked-in a 5:11.11. 

Jamie Dean, Claudia Flores, Wurster and Christina Hiotaky took seventh in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a 1:47.32. 

The Scarlet Hawks will embark on day three of the Liberal Arts Championship tomorrow, Friday, February 14 at 10:00 a.m. / 5:30 p.m.
