Scarlet Hawks Locked in Third Place After Day Three of Liberal Arts Championship

ELSAH, ILL.—Day three of the Liberal Arts Championship was upon the Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming & diving team in Elsah, Illinois on Friday. The Scarlet Hawks registered a trio of first-place finishes on day three, which puts them in third place with 291 points heading into Saturday. Coe College leads the 11-team field with 364 points. 

Anna Slominski claimed gold in the 100 yard breaststroke, where she crossed the finish line at 1:04.04 for a LAC, facility and school record (NCAA B Cut). Katherine Lydon kept the first-place trend alive in the 400 yard individual medley with a 4:38.55. Megan Burrill pulled off the trifecta with a first-place time of 57.92 in the 100 yard butterfly. 

Jamie Wurster, Slominski, Burrill and Lydon captured second place in the 200 yard medley relay when they crossed the finish line at 1:48.56, a school record.  

Jamie Wurster competed in the 100 yard backstroke championship final, where she took seventh place with a 1:04.19. The 100 yard breaststroke saw Christina Hiotaky notch an eighth-place time of 1:12.70. 

The Scarlet Hawks will embark on day four of the Liberal Arts Championship tomorrow, Saturday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. / 5:30 p.m.
