Women’s Tennis Claims Third in NACC Preseason Poll

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – In just its first season in NCAA Division III and the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), the Illinois Tech women's tennis team went 17-7 overall, 8-2 in league play and reached the NACC Tournament Semifinals. The entire conference took notice, as the 2019 NACC Preseason Poll has the Scarlet Hawks slotted third, receiving the second-most first-place votes and missing the second ranking by one point.

The poll, which was voted on by the league's head coaches and athletics communications professionals, as the Scarlet Hawks with 172 total points and three first-place votes. Concordia-Wisconsin (one first-place vote) narrowly edged Tech with 173 total points. Last year's league champion, Edgewood, received the top spot in the poll.

  2. Concordia-Wisconsin (1) – 173 points
  3. Illinois Tech (3) – 172 points
  4. Marian – 128 points
  5. MSOE – 126 points
  6. Wisconsin Lutheran – 106 points
  7. Lakeland – 77 points
  8. Alverno – 60 points
  9. Concordia-Chicago – 35 points
  10. Dominican – 31 points

The season begins this weekend for the Scarlet Hawks, as Tech will play at Lake Forest College on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
