Scarlet Hawks Compete at 2020 NACC Indoor Championship

KENOSHA, WIS.—The 2020 NACC Indoor Track & Field Championship was upon the Scarlet Hawks, as the women registered ninth place out of nine teams with five points. Aurora University captured the conference championship with 164 points. 

Mminika Effiong was a jack-of-all-trades for the Scarlet Hawks as she notched sixth place in the long jump (4.92m), and a 12th-place time of 28.29 in the 200 meter dash. Abigail Schulz was effective for IIT in the one mile run, where she crossed the finish line at 5:53.95 en route to ninth place while Erin Nelson followed in 11th place with a 6:07.99. Schulz followed that with a 2:37.05 in the 800 meter run, good enough for 11th place.

The Scarlet Hawks will compete in last chance meets over the next few weeks with hopes to qualify for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship on March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
