Chicago, Ill. – The Illinois Tech women's volleyball team knew they had a tough match on their hands Saturday afternoon at the Keating Center when conference foe Edgewood College came to pay a visit. The Eagles proved to be too much to overcome, as they swept the Scarlet Hawks 3-0 for their sixth straight NACC victory. The Eagles are now 6-1 in conference and 11-7 overall. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 4-3 in NACC play, and 12-6 overall.
How It Happened
Edgewood 3 – Illinois Tech 0
- Tied up at 2-2 early in set one, Edgewood went on a 10-1 run to take command of the set, en route to a 25-14 victory.
- The Scarlet Hawks trailed from the start in set two, falling behind 3-0. The three-point deficit was the closest the Hawks would get in the set, trailing 6-3 as the Eagles slowly extended their lead. The Eagles opened up an eight-point lead at 24-16, before the Hawks responded with a late 4-0 run to cut the deficit to 24-20. Edgewood's Abbey Falk completed a kill, however, for the Eagles 25-20 set two victory.
- The Scarlet Hawks held an early lead at 5-4 in set three, but couldn't hold off the advance of the Eagles. Edgewood scored nine of the next eleven points to open up a 13-7 lead. The Hawks would close within three points on six separate occasions before the Eagles pulled away for a 25-20 set three and match win.

- Maria Fernanda Alcantara had 5 kills to pace the team.
- Ana Jones added 4 kills and 7 digs.
- Grace Reckamp had 12 assists and 1 service ace.
- Kelsey Starnes paced the team with 17 receptions while adding 8 digs and 1 service ace.
