Scarlet Hawk Weekly: All Teams Busy for Homecoming Week

CHICAGO, Ill.- Another busy week is ahead for Illinois Institute of Technology, as the Scarlet Hawks have all Fall teams in action for Homecoming. Check out what each team has in store with our weekly preview.

The action starts on Wednesday as Men’s Soccer (1-3-1) takes on Wisconsin Lutheran (3-2) at Stuart Field at 7:00 p.m. Marc Colwell’s team will also host Coe College (1-2-1) on Homecoming at 11:00 a.m. and Blackburn College (0-2-1) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  Wisconsin Lutheran and Coe are coming off of victories, while Blackburn’s last match was a 2-0 loss to Rockford University.

Women’s Soccer (1-2-2) also begins this week’s action on Wednesday night, as the team will head a few miles north to oppose North Park University (1-4) at 7:00 p.m. before hosting Maranatha Baptist University (3-1-1) at 1:00 p.m. on Homecoming. North Park went 0-2 at the Scarlet Hawk Classic this weekend, while MBU defeated Concordia University Chicago.

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country heads to Warrenville on Saturday to competed in the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational. The event will be held at St. James Farm in Warrenville, which will also play host to Tech’s next two meets after Saturday. Race times are set for 10:00 a.m. for the women and 10:45 a.m. for the men.

Women’s Volleyball (5-1) will make its home debut on the new floor on Homecoming, hosting Lakeland College Saturday at noon. The Muskies are currently 3-8 and dropped three out of four at Emory University’s Emory Classic over the weekend. Tech has been idle since it’s four-set win over Moody Bible last Tuesday, with its winning streak still standing at five matches.
