CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team hosted Moody Bible Institute on Friday. Tech earned its third win of the season, downing the Archers 79-59 in dominant fashion.

How it Happened

  • Despite not making a shot from the floor until the 16:17 mark, the Scarlet hawks built a 7-2 lead based off success from the charity stripe.
  • Moody cut the lead to 10-9, but Jake Bruns hit three-point shots on consecutive possessions to jump the lead back up to seven.
  • The Archers remained close in the first half until Anthony Mosley Jr. hit his stride. The freshman scored nine of Tech's final 12 points of the half, bringing Tech's halftime advantage to 38-28/
  • The Scarlet Hawks picked up right where they left off after halftime, building the lead to 20 at the 13:11 mark.
  • Tech's lead reached as high as 24 as the Scarlet Hawks cruised to the 79-59 win.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Mosley Jr. hit the 20-point mark for the seventh straight contest, pouring in 24 points to go along with eight rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.
  • Bruns hit four threes en route to 16 points, his largest output of the year and second straight contest in double-digits.
  • Parker Joncus added 15 points.
  • Jake Digiorgio scored 10 points to go along with 12 rebounds.
  • Ryan Barnes corralled a team-high 14 rebounds, his highest total of the season.

Stats to Know

  • Moody shot a higher percentage than Tech, but the Scarlet Hawks sunk 15 more free throws and attempted 11 more shots.
  • Tech outrebounded the Archers 49-24, the team's largest rebounding margin of the season.
