MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team took on a tough Monmouth College team on Saturday afternoon. Tech fell 119-59.
How it Happened
- The Fighting Scots did not waste much time grabbing momentum, going on a 7-0 run start the contest and forcing a Tech timeout.
- Monmouth continued its strong play after the timeout, shooting 68.8% from the floor in the first half to take a 56-32 lead into the intermission. Samuel Rarick kept the Scarlet Hawks aflot behind 22 first half points (9-of-11 shooting).
- The second half was much of the same for Monmouth, as the Fighting Scots were able to pile up 63 points en route to the victory.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Rarick led 22 points, all of which came in the first half.
- Anthony Mosley Jr. tallied eight points and a team-high five assists. The eight point snapped a streak of nine consecutive games of 20 points or more for the freshman.
