Mosley Jr. Named Student-Athlete of the Month

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Illinois Institute of Technology point guard Anthony Mosley Jr. has been named Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Month for January by the Association of Division III Independents. The Chicago native is the first freshman and first Tech student-athlete to earn the honor this year.

A one-time Player of the Week award winner in January, Mosley Jr. averaged 24.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for the month to go along with 49.5% shooting. He scored over 22 points in all six of the month's games, never shooting below 40% in a contest. His high total for the month was 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting against Maranatha Baptist on January 14, a game where the freshman also tallied six steals and five assists.

The Student-Athlete of the Month honor comes on the heels of Mosley Jr.'s Player of the Week award for the last week of January. The Whitney Young product posted a near-triple double in a win over Moody Bible on January 26 with 24 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.

Mosley Jr. and the Scarlet Hawks return to action tonight, traveling to Rockford University for a 7:00 p.m. tip. Live stats and live video will be available courtsey of Rockford.
