Mosley Jr. Earns USBWA, AD3I Player of the Week Awards

CHICAGO, Ill. – For his performance during the week of December 12 through December 18, Illinois Tech Men's Basketball's Anthony Mosley Jr. has earned two different player of the week awards.

The sophomore point guard has been selected as the United States Basketball Writers Association Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week as well as The Association of Division III Independents Men's Basketball Player of the Week. An award that considers NCAA Division III student-athletes from across the country, Mosley Jr. is the first Tech student-athlete to receive a USBWA honor since the program was reinstated in 2011-12.

Both the USBWA and AD3I recognizes Mosley Jr. after three outstanding games over the seven days. He averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game in Tech's three wins over Fontbonne, UC Santa Cruz, and Pacific Lutheran, shooting an astounding 20-of-28 (71.4%) from the floor. On Monday at Fontbonne, the Chicago native recorded his second double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 assists to go along with five rebounds and three steals. After a solid stat line against UC Santa Cruz on Saturday (nine points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals), the Whitney Young product scored 25 points the next day to compliment two more steals, six more assists, five more rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Men's Basketball looks to build on its four-game winning streak and its perfect December record when Rose-Hulman visits the Keating Sports Center on Thursday night. The 7:00 p.m. tip-off will have live stats, video, and audio. The live audio will be powered by Illinois Media School.
