CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer team (2-3-1) won its first home match of the season on Wednesday, scoring on an overtime goal from Santiago Bartolome to win 1-0 over Wisconsin Lutheran College.

How it Happened

  • Tech outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 9-4 in the first half, generating numerous chances, but just two shots were on net and saved by WLC's Cedric Guichard.
  • The Scarlet Hawks thought they had netted a goal in the final seconds of the first half, but an offsides call waved it off.
  • Half number two was a bit restless for both teams, as a total of four yellow cards were handed out.
  • Tech outshot WLC 9-3 in the half, but Guichard made four more saves in the half to send the match two overtime.
  • The Scarlet Hawks attempted the only two shots in the second half, one coming in the final seconds. With just 21 ticks left on the clock, Bartolome scored off passes from Bart Grabowski and Mazen Al Hourani for the winning tally.
