CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer team (5-5-1) hosted Elmhurst College on a chilly Wednesday night, falling 4-1 at Stuart Field.
How it Happened
- Elmhurst put themselves on the board early, scoring in the seventh minute on a Matt McNamara goal.
- The Bluejays had two quick strikes in a four minute span later in the half, netting goals from Andrew Hicks (19th minute) and Sam Johnson (23rd minute).
- Elmhurst scored early in the second half to build a 4-0 lead on an Austin Larsen goal in the 51st minute.
- Tech would not lie down, scoring twice in the second half. The Scarlet Hawks scored on a Noah Griffith penalty kick in the 58th minute. Later, the team scored on a beautiful goal from Serigo Calvo de Leon in the 84th minute. Calvo de Leon's tally was lofted over the keeper's head from about 35 yards out.

- Griffith tallied a goal and a team-high three shot attempts (two on goal).
- Calvo de Leon, Ryan Blackburn, and Quentin Dreilich all added two shots.
Elmhurst Notes
- Seven different Bluejays took the team's nine shots.
Stats to Know
- Despite the loss, Tech outshot Elmhurst 11-9 for the match and 9-2 in the second half.
- Tech committed 17 fouls compared to Elmhurst's 16.
- A total of five yellow cards were handed out (three IIT, two EC), all in the first half.
