CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer team hosted the Scarlet Hawk Tournament on Saturday, winning its matchup in impressive fashion on Senior Day. Tech downed Robert Morris-Lake County 6-0 behind a Lucas Niehuns Antunes hat trick.
How it Happened
- Battling a steady rain and wind all match, the Scarlet Hawk offense was effective from the start of the match. Niehuns Antunes notched the game's first tally in the 14th minute unassisted.
- Four minutes later, Brandon Bortei-Doku scored off of a pass from Noah Griffith to take a 2-0 lead.
- Tech scored twice more in the half, once off a penalty kick from Sergio Calvo de Leon (39th minute) and again from Niehuns Antunes (41st minute).
- The start of the second half was quiet until Quentin Dreilich scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute.
- Niehuns Antunes capped the scoring by compleiting his hat trick in the 72nd minute.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Niehuns Antunes' 11 shots and three goals are both highs for any Tech player this season.
- Bortei-Doku (one goal) and Emmanuel Zambrano each took three shots.
- Calvo de Leon and Dreilich each scored on just one shot.
- Griffith tallied his fourth assist on the year.
Stats to Know
- The Scarlet Hawks outshot the Eagles 25-2.
- Tech keeper Anastasios Manolis did not face one shot in 45 minutes.
