CHICAGO, Ill- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer team hosted the second day of the Scarlet Hawk Tournament on Sunday, taking on Cleary College in a matchup of both teams with Saturday wins. Tech fell to the Cougars 2-1.
How it Happened
- The Scarlet Hawks notched the only goal of the first half, scoring in the 15th minute. Brandon Bortei-Doku took a nice lead pass from Lucas Niehuns Antunes for the tally.
- Cleary tightened up the defense in the second half. Holding Tech without a goal, the Cougars Santiago Almada scored in the 54th minute to tie the score.
- The Cougars scored once again in the 69th minute courtesy of the tournament's Offensive MVP: Danilo Milacic.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Bortei-Doku scored on one of his two shots.
- Sergio Calvo de Leon led Tech with four shots.
- Niehuns Antunes added an assist.
All-Tournament Team
- Four Scarlet Hawks were named to the All-Tournament team: Niehuns Antunes, Bortei-Doku, Calvo de Leon, and Oscar Cazales.
- Cleary's Milacic, Almada, Noah Schneider (Defensive MVP), and Blair Moore all were named from Cleary.
- Bojan Zgonjanin (RMU-LC), Miguel Cortez (RMU-LC), and Tim Perdue (RMU-Springfield) were also named.

- The Scarlet Hawks will close out the season against Carthage College on Wednesday night.
