Chicago, Ill. – The Illinois Tech men's soccer team continued their early-season success, defeating Manchester University 3-0 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Stuart Field. The Scarlet Hawks improved their record to 2-0-0. The Spartans fell to 0-1-1.
The Hawks have started the season with a pair of 3-0 victories, getting timely scoring while keeping the opponent off the score sheet.
How It Happened
- The Scarlet Hawks and Spartans played to a scoreless first half. The Hawks outshot the Spartans 7-4 in the half.
- The Hawks got on the board early in the second half at the 46:45 mark, with Joshua Plimpton converting a feed from Anthony Paiotti for his second goal of the season to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
- The Hawks increased their lead to 2-0 1:30 later when Mateo Sanchez scored an unassisted goal at 48:16.
- Maciek Matusiak completed the scoring at the 78:34 mark, netting his second goal of the season on a feed from Zaheed Al-Hajji.

- Sanchez scored a goal, to go along with three shots.
- Matusiak had scored a goal on his only shot attempt.
- Plimpton scored one goal on two shots on goal.
- Al-Hajji had an assist, and led the team with three shots, two on goal.
