The Stars got on the board in the 18th and 23rd minute with both goals coming from John Cronnolly. The Cronnolly and Bass duo picked up the second goal a few minutes later after Bass blocked a Hawk pass which deflected to a wide open Cronnolly. Cronnolly dribbled the ball into the 18-yard box before placing the ball into the lower left corner to take a 2-0 lead over the Hawks.
-
Maciek Matusiak scored the Scarlet Hawks lone goal late in the 81st minute of play to cut the Stars lead to one. After a cross and a Scarlet Hawk header sent the ball towards the goal that forced the Stars goalkeeper to make a diving save, Matusiak was able to get his foot in between the Stars goalkeeper and the post to tap the ball into the back of the net.
