Lexington, KY - The United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on July 13th that the Illinois Tech Men's Volleyball team earned Team Academic honors for the 2022-23 season.

The award recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

"I think it's remarkable how our team performs in the classroom in and out of season" said Head Coach Mike Oswald. "Earning this accolade means a lot since we are all well aware of each other's commitment to education, our team and, individually, their future. Committing to nightly two-plus hour practices after a full day of classes, some of which are a three-four hour lab or studio is a lot just in terms of time management. Being able to retain and recall that information to perform on exams and projects is special. We're very fortunate to have these people representing Illinois Tech Men's Volleyball and we're proud to work with them" said Oswald.
