Quote from Coach Williams

  • "Easily the largest, most competitive, and high profile race of the season," said Williams. "Athletes from three of the top five teams were in the field and 320 competitors. I think some of our guys started a little shellshocked from the magnitude of the entire event, but eventually, everyone found their grove and did their job - race and be competitive. Once again Sam showed he can be competitive in any race. He started the first 2000 meters in about 60th or 70th and finished 33rd right the with several WIAC, UAA and MIAA runners. After the race, he told me he felt so much more controlled and felt relaxed passing people in the last 1000 meters."

Up Next

  • Tech will compete next at the USCAA Championships on Saturday, November 6.
  • The event will take place at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla.
  • Race time is set for 11:00 a.m. ET.
