Hawks Fall to Comets
Chicago, Illinois - A slow start to the first and second halves caused the Illinois Tech women's basketball team to drop their first game of the season to Olivet College, 84-56, at Keating Sports Center.
The Scarlet Hawks fell behind 6-0 to start the game, and were down 9 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the half. Illinois Tech chipped away at the lead and cut it to 3 with just under 6 minutes remaining in the half. The Comets then went on a 15-5 run to hold a 13 point lead at halftime.
The Hawks came out slow in the second half, and allowed Olivet to score 22 of the first 24 points of the half. Illinois Tech was never able to recover.
The Hawks were led by freshman Hailey Borowczyk, who finished with 14 points, followed by freshman Kaylee Wicka with 10.
