Women’s Basketball Falls to Sharp Shooting North Park, 87-46

Chicago, Illinois- Three Scarlet Hawk starters scored in double figures; Kaylee Wicka-13pts, Adrianna Maron-11pts, and Jessica Henriques-10pts but the Illinois Tech women fell to a sharp shooting North Park team 87-46 on Monday evening at Keating Sports Center.

North Park (5-1) started the game with a frantic pace going 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3 point range. Regardless of the efficient shooting from North Park, the Scarlet Hawks showed a lot of resilience with their hard work and hustle. However North Park closed the first half with a 43-18 lead.

The Scarlet Hawks came out the second half playing with more tenacity and hunger led by Junior guard, Adrianna Maron and Freshman guard, Kaylee Wicka. The offense proved to be more efficient scoring 28 points in the second half in comparison to the 18 scored in the first. North Park continued their stellar shooting in the second half with 5 of their players scoring in double figures for the game. North Park went 20-40 from the field in the second half, pulling away from the Scarlet Hawks to secure an impressive 87-46 victory.

The Scarlet Hawks will be in action again on Saturday, the 13th of December at 1pm when they will host Wheaton College at Keating sports center.
