Women’s Basketball Falls to Spalding

ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's basketball team played Spalding University in a neutral site game on Saturday afternoon. Tech fell to Spalding 91-32 at Webster University in St. Louis.

How it Happened

  • Tech was able to put 11 points on the board in the first quarter, but Spalding shot 52.4% from the floor and countered with 29 of their own. Haily Borowczyk was 3-of-4 shooting and scored seven points in the opening frame.
  • Spalding put together a strong second quarter and led 57-15 at half.
  • Tech played its best quarter of basketball in the third, scoring 12 points. Six of those came from Borowczyk.
  • Spalding's defense tightened in the fourth, holding Tech to 16.7% shooting en route to a 91-32 win.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Borowczyk led the Hawks with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting in 27 minutes.
  • April Wanagas scored six points and added a team-high five rebounds.
  • Rebecca Bell and Josie Flesvig tallied four points each.
