CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosted Moody Bible Institute on Tuesday night. Illinois Tech fell 63-46.
How it Happened
- Tech hung with Moody in a high-scoring first quarter. Hailey Borowczyk scored eight of the team's first 14 points as the Hawks were even at 14-14. Moody went on a 7-0 run and led 24-17 after one. Borowczyk tallied 11 in the quarter.
- Moody's most dominant quarter was the second, as the Archers outscored the Hawks 15-4.
- The Scarlet Hawks outscored the Archers in the second half. After a 16-15 advantage for Moody in the third, the Scarlet Hawks held a 10-8 advantage in the fourth. Tech went on a 7-2 run spanning the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarters.
- Tech closed the game out on an 8-0 run as well. Borowczyk and Brooke Bell hit three-point field goals to finish the contest.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Borowczyk scored a season-high 18 points and led Tech with four assists.
- Rebecca Bell totaled nine points. His sister, Brooke, added eight.
- Venika Jarvis recorded a team-high eight rebounds.
