CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosted its final home game of the season on Saturday, taking on the Tigers of Grace Bible. Tech fell 56-36 on Senior Day.
How it Happened
- Tech stayed close with the Tigers in the first quarter, holding a few brief leads and getting five points from April Wanagas. Grace's defense clamped down at the end of the quarter, as Tech didn't score in the final 3:17.
- In the second, the offensive struggle carried over as the Scarlet Hawks managed just four points. Grace led 28-13 at the break.
- The Scarlet Hawks played well offensivley in the third, shooting 45.5% from the floor behind strong play from both Hailey Borowczyk (seven points) and Ade Maron (five points).
- Tech netted 11 points in the fourth, including five more from Wanagas. However, the Tiger offense managed 28 total second half points en route to a 56-36 win.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Borowczyk led the Scarlet Hawks with 13 points. She also added four rebounds.
- Wanagas scored ten points off the becnch.
- Venika Jarvis and Carly Ilg each led the Scarlet Hawks with six rebounds.
- Rebecca Bell recorded a team-high four assists.

- The 2015-16 season will come to a close on Tuesday night. The Scarlet Hawks will travel to nearby Moody Bible Institute for a 7:00 p.m. game.
