IRVING, Tex. - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team won match number two on its three-match trip down South on Sunday. Tech defeated host University of Dallas 14-5.
How it Happened
- The Scarlet Hawks made things happen early, scoring twice within the first four minutes. Isabel Fitzpatrick-Meyers and Sarah Colby each tallied to put Tech up 2-0.
- After a Dallas goal at the 25:48 mark, the Scarlet Hawks dominated the rest of the first half. Illinois Tech scored nine unanswered goals to take an 11-1 lead into the intermission. Madison Meredith assisted on three of the tallies, while Alyssa DeLuca scored three times.
- Meredith stared the second half scoring for Tech, scoring her second goal of the match off an Alyssa DeLuca pass at the 27:31 mark to go up 12-1.
- Dallas went on a 4-0 run to cut the Hawks lead to seven, but Tech would score twice more before the match ended.
- Fitpatrick-Meyers scored at the 4:53 mark before Heather Bennett tallied in the match's final minute.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Fitzpatrick-Meyers and DeLuca each led the Hawks with four goals. DeLuca led the team with five draw controls.
- Meredith and Colby each scored twice. Meredith also tallied a team-high three assists.
- Isabella Rubin tallied a goal from the defender position and also recorded four ground balls to lead Tech.
- Jennifer Young earned the victory behind her stellar first-half performance, recording three saves and allowing just one goal.

- The Scarlet Hawks committed just 12 turnovers compared to Dallas' 20.
