Women's Lacrosse to Host October Camps

CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team will be hosting two camps for high school students during the month of October as well as partnering with Illinois Tech's admissions department for its annual Women in STEM Day.

The Fall Prospect Camp will take place on Sunday, October 9 and will start at 8:00 a.m. and go until noon. The camp will be open to all levels of high school students, who will have a chance to learn from 2016 MWLC Coach of the Year Kirk Lamitie as well as the 2016-2017 Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team. The camp will run through what a typical college level practice would be like, with focus on fundamentals and game situations. All who are interested in registering can do so here.

The Women in STEM Day will take place on October 10. Here, students will learn about the STEM fields from faculty, students and alumnae. There will be various speakers, interactive sessions and students will get the chance to do hands on work. The event will have check in at 8:30 a.m. followed by the welcome ceremony at 9:00 a.m. Then, the first session will start at 10:00 a.m. with the second session following at 11:00 a.m. There will be a break at noon for lunch, with an admission presentation and campus tour following for those interested. The State Street Fall Lacrosse Camp will take place on October 23 and run from 8 a.m. to noon. This camp is for athletes of any skill level and will focus on improving knowledge of the game, varying from footwork to stick work. There will even be drills athletes can use to practice leading up to the spring season. Groups will be split based on age and skill level. All who are interested in registering can do so here.
