Chicago, IL – The Illinois Tech women's soccer team will kickoff its season this weekend as they travel to New York to take on College of Staten Island and John Jay College. The College of Staten Island will play host for this annual Fall Classic. Illinois Tech will take on the home side in the first match of the weekend at 2pm EST on Saturday, August 30th. The Hawks will also play at 2pm EST on Sunday, August 31st as they face the Bloodhounds of John Jay.
The Scarlet Hawks just capped off a successful preseason and are ready for the challenges they will face this season. Tech returns 11 players from their 2013 squad and adds nine new faces this year. "We are excited to get going," said 2nd year head coach Ahmet Kose. "This group has meshed together really well and it will be interesting to see the quick impact some of these newcomers will have."
The women will return home on Labor Day to begin preparations for their home opener on Friday, September 5th vs. Albion College at 8PM CST.
