Late Goal Proves Costly for Scarlet Hawk Women

Chicago, Illinois – Women's soccer dropped its second game of the weekend in a tight 1-0 battle with St. Mary's College on Sunday afternoon.  The Hawks gave up the lone goal in the 74th minute of action.

In a scoreless first half, the Belles held the shot advantage of 5-3.  None of the Hawks' shots were on goal but they were responsible for the closest of chances throughout the first 45 minutes, seeing a couple of early chances just miss the outside of the post.  Roxanne Myers kept a clean sheet on the other end of the field until the Liza Felix was able to bend a ball into the far post after a nice individual effort.  Myers nearly came up with the big save but the Hawks would fall behind 1-0 in the waning minutes of the match, unable to muster up a comeback.

After dropping 2 straight games, the Hawks look to get back to their winning ways as they play host to the Dominican University Stars on Friday evening at 7 PM.  You can follow the live action on Friday right here.
