Women's Soccer Eases Past Regents

Chicago, Illinois – The Scarlet Hawk women's soccer team earned their 10th win of the season, tying the school record, as they coasted past Rockford University on Wednesday afternoon.  Illinois Tech outshot Rockford 41-1 on the day and held a 15-1 advantage in corners.  The final score of 5-0 gave the Hawks their eighth shutout of the season, also a school record.

Anida Phetchanpheng started the scoring off of an assist from Adrianna Maron.  It was Phetchanpheng's team-leading 10th goal of the season.  Maron then tallied another assist as she fed center-back Kristen Barrett for her first goal of the year.

It was then Maron's turn to find the back of the net as she was responsible for the next two Hawk goals, finishing off her stellar performance.  Lorena Costa added the final goal in the second half.

Roxanne Myers didn't have to make a save on the day but took advantage of her time at forward, firing off four shots.  Illinois Tech improves to 10-6 and will take the field for the final time in 2014 as they host Finlandia University on Sunday at 1 PM for their Senior Day game.  Seniors Hailey Kunkel, Ana Salgado, and Veronica Torres will be honored and celebrated during this match.
