Maron's Two Goals Lead Women's Soccer Past Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team moved to 4-3-2 on the season on Saturday, downing Anderson (Ind.) with a 2-1 road victory.

How it Happened

  • The Scarlet Hawks would need to show resiliency on Saturday, as Anderson took an early lead. The home team scored early on, netting a goal in the seventh minute on their second shot of the match to go up 1-0.
  • It would not take long for Tech to respond, as Ade Maron notched an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the 16th minute.
  • Tech would survive an offensive onslaught late in the first half, as the Scarlet Hawk defense turned away five Anderson shots in the half's final five minutes. Roxanne Myers made three saves in that span.
  • The Scarlet Hawks scored on the team's first shot of the second half, as Maron tallied off of an Anida Phetchenpheng pass to take the 2-1 lead.
